SLOW FOOD SOLANO CONVIVIUM
2017 School Garden Grants for
Elementary, Middle and High Schools
GRANT APPLICATION PROCESS
The Convivium awards a limited number of grants for school gardens to Solano County elementary, middle, and high schools selected from applications received between December 15, 2016 and January 15, 2017. Ideally, grants will go to schools representing each of the following geographical areas: Benicia, Dixon, Fairfield-Suisun, Rio Vista, Vacaville and Vallejo. The application process for 2017 Grants is now closed.
Applicants may request from $100 to $400 in grant funding. The Convivium may increase the size of the grant in special circumstances at its discretion. First priority will be given to school gardens that will be planted early in the year. Schools that have received grants in the past from the Solano Slow Food Convivium may reapply if they have submitted their report for the previous year. Schools who failed to submit a final report may reapply after a one-year absence if a new leader is responsible for the program (e.g. teacher and/or principal). Convivium representatives may visit a school garden as part of the grant application process.
Current schools receiving grants need to complete and submit a final report by June 30, 2017 in order to qualify for future grants.
